For kids and teenagers, some of the most important parts of life is knowing that their family is there to see them succeed in their endeavors.

These endeavors can be anything, big or small: it can be getting a good grade on a difficult exam, winning the first prize at a spelling bee or a science fair, or even going to prom. A big part of high school for many teens is sport, and having friends and family witness their wins may be very important to them.

For sophomore Josh Close, not having his father and sister around to see his baseball games has probably become routine. Mark and Asia are both in the military, and were both coming home from a mission in Guam when Josh was expecting them.

They were supposed to make it to one of his baseball games when the high schooler was told that their plane wouldn’t land on time.

If Josh was disappointed when he ran onto the field, he wasn’t for very long. His coach called a timeout, and he saw two soldiers walk onto the field… Needless to say, he recognized their faces, and greeted them with open arms!
